James MacHattie
(Lowland District) Born 14th January 1800, the son of Alexander MacHattie and Helen Mitchell; arrived in Valladolid from Aquhorties; ordained a priest, 1822, and remained to teach humanities until he left for Scotland, 3rd May 1826; conducted a party of boys to the Scots Benedictine monastery at Ratisbon, 1830; joined the community there and was professed, 1832 (“Fr. Augustine”); died in Ratisbon, 18th June 1835.
